Thank you Jang. I watch a lot of your reviews and use your input in my purchase decisions. I am a newbie basher? and this Tacon motor was the first big upgrade I have done to my Slash (formaly brushed) truck. is it bad? for a bl motor to run too cool? I keep mine usually around 160 F but in one of my trucks i have one that consistently runs around 120F and i dont really want to change gearing. Am i OK or should i change something to keep it around normal running temps?

I honestly think this and the stock motor that comes? on the sc10rs (reedy 540r) are the same motors. Same hard wires and same little gap on the end bell where the wires enter the motor. They are really similar in design if they aren't the same

Excellent review, thanks for the? info on temps. I would suggest that you secure the motor wires so they are tight and do not move. If the wires are stiff, then they may tend to break off right at the motor.

I have 3 tacon motors a 3900kv in firestorm 3200kv grave digger and a 380xl mounted in a wraith kit right now. I've had several brushed motors n all of em even w diffrent gearing got good n hot these sor far geared pretty high i don't get over 150 n that's running quit a bit on 2s. N? my cheapest brushed motor i've bought has been 30 bucks. These are night n day compared to brushed setups! I like alot

as far as ESC's go. Check the fourms, and see whats working for everyone. EX & EZ-run Castle, Tekin, viper, Theres so many. Price is the biggest problem here. So whatever you can afford. Now the motor. That depends on the type and style of battery I'm going to run. 3s lipo 3500kv or less 2s lipo 3500 to 4500kv Both would be geared for around? 45mph. Thats fast for a backyard basher.

you can use almost any audio editing program. But since it slows it down means it will lower the pitch because the sound waves will go slower too like the built in windows recorder. There are? however programs that can keep the pitch and slow it down. if i were you, i would start of by goggling "slow down audio files".. (;

@mc47981 After replacing the "drive pinion" to the rear diff, its holding up ok. The stock motor uses? 2.3mm pinions, which means the pinions don't quite fit on the 2mm shaft of the Tacon 2040.

Sounds like your trying to hook up you brushed? ESC to your Brushless motor. (That won't work) You have to have a Brushless capable ESC (3 wires) to run a Brushless motor. Anything 60amps or higher will do.

Not sure of the length. They are short. I had to extend the wires from my ESC for the Slash, but not for the Stampede, and Rustler. Thats using a Leopard, and Mamba? Max ESC. You can't cut the wires on the Motor, and extend them. They are part of the internal coil, and will damage the motor. You can unsolder its connectors for replacement, but not cutting. Other than that there some of the best brushless motors I have ever used. hope I help. Just a guess 2 inchs long?

Did it when using actual songs was too taboo for Youtube. Did not want to end up having the sound deleted, because of copyright infringement. The music is also there just to break up the quiet in? between the passing sounds of the car, as to not allow the video it self to get too boring. It was never about the music in the first place. Depends on the model your talking about. There all on Traxxas web site, I'm not sure. Off the top of my head the XL5 is around 30 with the? supplied gearing and 7 cell NIMH. The VXL is around 40 to 45MPH stock out the box with the Traxxas 7 cell NIMH.

i dont think you should get this, there is not very much suspension, that is why? it is bouncing around on a track, the tires are in the air way too often not allowing you to get the optimum speed.

Thanks for the advice and I decided to go with the Losi Ten SCTE roller and it is awesome! It is fairly easy to tune and great if you just want put it? on the track and race with box-stock setup I highly recommend to anyone.

if you are gonna race the the tlr 22 will work for you but? its not much for bashing you pretty much wanna keep it on a track or a maintained surface. if you want to race and bash then the slash would be better not to mention 4WD has a definate handeling advantage over a 2wd buggy.

Okay. Tacon motors use a BFR. ( big freaking rotor) this causes the motor to run cooler and have more torque. The down fall is it lowers the? kv rating. In the tacon 5.5 turn it is 5900 kv and most others are around 6000 kv but will run hotter.
