ok, some people might call me a bitch or stupid for pointing this out, but whatever :) In Triggerfinger, where Rick kills Dave and Toni did anyone notice that he didn't shoot them in the head??? In the last episode of season 2 it's shown that any form of death, as long as the brain isn't traumatized in any way, will cause a person to return as a zombie. So, in keeping in line with the show, Dave and Toni should have become zombies.... Maybe their transformations took a while? to happen..? idk lol

The guts of the AMC are the same as the? D35. 27 spline and you need a pre-'93 locker to fit in your differential. 4Wheel Parts, Randys Ring and Pinion, pretty much any gear and axle dealer. I want to say the part # is a 2310 but dont quote me on that.

Can you believe I'm still driving the? Black car after all the punishment it has seen? Drove it down to the store for a 12pk tonight. Still looks just as good. 2nd T-5 trans, and it now has a Cherokee 8.25 rear with disc conversion. The engine is getting tired, but a 4.0 will be in it one day.

American Motors (AMC) was a mid-50's merger of Nash-Rambler and Hudson. Their plant was in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Chevy Vega wasn't bad looking and could have been a decent car if it hadn't been for GM's "planned obsolescence" policy in the 70's. They intentionally built cars to fall apart after 5 years so people would have to buy another new car sooner. For the most part, the? difference between a Pony Car and a Muscle Car were the car's size relative to the rest of the lineup. Pony cars typically rode on shorter wheelbases and overall smaller dimensions, while a Muscle car had somewhat reasonable space to be used as a family car. Compare a Mustang to a Gran Torino, a Camaro to a Chevelle, or a Barracuda to a GTX. Chrysler blurred the line a bit with their E-body pony cars, because the engine they wanted to fit had ridiculous dimensions.

i had up to that point learned the old fashion way (my dad didn't know much about AMC either. he stuck to Fords and Dodges) by messing up. it taught? me alot about cars. i did alot of firsts in that car (1st time i broke 100mph-156mph, 1st drum brake rebuild, 1st really long burnout, 1st real street race, 1st drunk driving- didn't get caught, 1st drive through really deep snow (11 inches) in a RWD car, 1st bodywork, 1st cool car, loudest car i've ever driven, and on and on).

stick ain't hard. i learned in a 79 4-speed 351M (big block) Bronco on a dirt road w/ a very low 1st gear ("granny gear") and in a silver 89 Shebly Daytona Turbo (1 of only a few 100 made in that color. wish i still had it). be happy to have access to the info of the internet. i didn't have PC untill '01 (over a year after i got the car). i learned from a 71 Javelin Clhilton Service Manual an old man gave me at a gas station to help me with my car. it was quite random really.?

yeah, by 73 everyone else had switch over to all unleaded. AMC was a little behind. Mine has the 304, but it has some factory optional speed parts (Group 19 parts)? like roller rockers, higher compression pristons and factory headers (but the headers are shot to hell after 40 years). my dad still refuses to believe its "just" a 304. he says it runs like a 401 (a freind of his had a 401 AMX when he was in HS that my dad rode in alot). since its the 360, you have 727 (if an auto).

yes lead sustitue is required, unless you change the valve seals to harden ones. the AMX and Javelin required leaded fuel until 73, but then you had to run lead fuel every other tank in 73 & 74. since yours has the 390 (earlier engine), lead is required. just go to Autozone (or equivelent) and buy a couple of bottles and add 1 bottle at every fill up. they? aren't very exspensive (max $2) if you don't, it begin to smoke and eventualy cause engine damage (i learned the hard way).

I'd watch for rust (body parts are hard to come by). Always run it with lead fuel (you can buy lead substitute at any auto store). The points ingnition is a pain in the rear, so I'd upgrade to electronic (jegs and summit? have ones for AMC). Since AMC used some parts from other companies (the trans is a Chrysler 727 but with an AMC bolt pattern. the ignition is GM and the carb is a Ford/Autolite). other then that just watch for the normal things to do when buying a used car.

The 0-60 runs will also improve greatly as well. I raced a few modern cars with mine and beat them. Never got to race a real modern performance car, but alot of 80s/90s performance cars felt the sting of my little 304 V8 auto 73 AMX (headers, shift kit and upgraded valvetrain and air shocks). My 73 AMX handles like a dream, better then my 93 Z28? but the Camaro does get better MPGs.

Happy to say I can personaly atest to the praises he's giving the Javelin. My 73 Javelin/AMX is great car to drive. It was my daily driver in HS. I was the only kid to drive a classic car of any type to school. lots of fun. still have it 12 years later, but it needs a little work? (its a northeast car).

The Avengers was a good time but The Dark Knight sucked me in right away. I worked for Budget Rent-A-Car back in 1975. We received several truck loads of Gremlins,? Pacers, and Matadors. Some had less than 1 mile on the odometer. They were really sorry cars. Slow noisy , guzzled gas, would not handle. A gremlin with a six had just slightly more power than a Mercury Bobcat (Pinto) with a four. The Merc was actually more refined!

AMC made their own. Only exceptions were the 55-56 Packard V8, '77-'79 VW 4, '80-'83 Pontiac 4, '84-'87 Chev 2.8 six, & '84-whenever 2.0 P-R-V diesel. In house engines from '50 or so on are: 196-6cyl. 250-287-327 V8,? 199, 232,258,& 4.0 6cyl, 2.5 liter 4, & 290,343,304,360,390,and 401 V8's. The only coincidental connection between a Ford FE 390 and an AMC 390 is the displacement. Don't share bore, stroke, block size ( the Ford is a big block ), bore spacing, or any thing else. That's fine but it's funny how she changes her mind whenever sees fit. WD sometimes tries to put a decent amount of realism between the characters' relationships. Well one thing I hate about people in real life, is when they try to come clean out of situation they contributed to and then have? the nerve to put the blame on others, something Lori has done more than once on this show, whether she believed she had good reasons or not. I wud like to? see Ridley Scott direct a Bond movie. I think hes a great director becus he has a very good eye, and a vision. I mean we've all saw Alien so much now and it is a classic, but I watched it recently with commentary of all the actors and director and Ridley sed hes never been a sci-fi enthusiast, I was suprised cus watching Alien, the detail and everything you'd think it was directed by sum1 like Lucas whos really quite into Sci-fi. Because xenomorphs are a powerful and iconic? monster that are well established and offer infinite room for growth presented to an audience who doesn't need to be told the basics but expects cool shit in return. You've had ONE less than stellar movie out of only SIX. That's an amazing track record for such a short series, you really need to put some perspective on it. Avengers was the most ambitious comic book film of all time, and that ambition paid off. It's NOW the best comic book film of all time bar none. No one involved in this production seemed to take anything for granted. What I find funny is that people actually think Avengers took the title from TDK. Frankly, most non fanboys have TDK down the list. Avengers took the title from Spider-Man 2, X2 or Iron Man. THAT should be the debate.?

Yikes... it's like they're trying to sell the movie on QVC. It's not even close to the greatest comic book movie of all time. None of the characters get worthwhile arcs and the previous films are? all but abandoned. I was very disappointed.

However i always keep a level head when i go see a movie, you seem to be the same way friend. I don't exactly what the numbers will be for this film, but i think they will be huge. Of course, no matter what someone says about a movie, god or bad, you won't know personally until you go see it for yourself. I just say go see the movie with a level head, that's what i do. When you see it, tell me? what you thought of it, i'll do the same thing. Yeah, we're one day away now, we'll see how it plays out.

Of course, i'm not expecting the greatest film of all time, that title is reserved for films like "The Godfather" in my opinion. Now it very well might be the best comic book film of all time, i'll know friday evening, haha. While it might not? be the greatest film of all time, it might be the most entertaining film for all i know. The critics are raving over this film, so it might just surpass you're expectations, you never know.

You make a lot of sense there, I'll give you that :) I'm not denying this film will be good, but I'm also not denying that it'll not be the greatest film of all time with award nominations. But when it comes to calling it "The? Best Comic Book Movie Ever" I would expect not just mindless CGI action sequences, but an intelligent/provocative story, superb acting, excellent production and a great/well-known Director to bring the film alive and stay true to it's comic book roots all at the same time.

I hear you, but to me a REAL comic book film is about the "Wow" factor, the unbelievable. Comic book films are not reality, i don't care how much you try to "ground" and "humanize" it, it's not real. "The Avengers" appears to be what a comic book film is supossed to be. That big fun spectacle film like "Star Wars", "Raiders of The Lost Ark", films like that. When i want to see a serious? film, i'll watch a good drama, but when i want to see a comic book film, that's what i expect to see.

Finally, I get to have a normal conversation with someone who's not ignorant :) I totally respect your thought on the matter and feel the same on some of the levels? you expressed. But to me I feel like there are two sets of films, there are the smart and realistic kind and then there's the action-packed and fun kind. I feel like this movie is the second one. I personally love the first kind and I'm pretty sure I'll like "The Avengers", but I know, for a fact, that it's not going to blow my mind.
